Day 1          Papallacta Walk          4000 – 3600m          8km – 4hrs
Today's walk explores the beautiful glacial landscapes around Papallacta, passing mountain lagoons and discovering elfin forests where we can learn more about the distinct flora & fauna of this region. Great views. After a picnic lunch we can relax in the thermal waters of the local hot springs.
Dinner & overnight in Guango Lodge.

Day 2          Guango Nature Reserve          2700m          3km – 1.5hrs
A short walk this morning within the Guango Reserve to a secluded waterfall, the abundant & colourful hummingbirds are mesmerizing. Later we continue our journey onto the Amazon rainforest of Ecuador. Box lunch included.
Dinner & overnight in Hakuna Matata Lodge.

Day 3          Amazon Rainforest Walk          600 – 850m          3 hrs
Our path today takes us on a route through the Ecuadorian jungle, both primary and secondary forest, where we learn about the Amazon flora & fauna including how the native people utilize plants and herbs for medicinal reasons. After lunch we have some free time to relax or bathe in the crystal clear waters of the local river.

Day 4          Pailon del Diablo Waterfall Walk         1600m         3km - 1.5hrs
Leaving the rainforest behind we travel onto Baños, visiting the famous Pailon del Diablo waterfall en route. Here we follow the trail through the forest before reaching this powerful and beautiful waterfall. Picnic lunch included. Then we continue onto the town of Baños.
Dinner & overnight in Hacienda Leito.

Day 5          Leito - Baños Walk    2700–3050–1800m   12km – 3.5 hrs
Today's morning walk through cloud forests and Andean farmlands can offer spectacular views of the smoking Tungurahua Volcano and striking Pastaza Canyon. It brings us down into Banos where we lunch and have time to explore the streets of this pretty mountain spa town.
Dinner & overnight in Hacienda Leito.

Day 6         Cotopaxi National Park  3800 – 4000m   10km – 4hrs
Our route today is located within the Cotopaxi National Park. Beginning at the Limpiopungo lake, our walk takes us through striking Andean landscapes, in the ever-present shadow of one of the world's highest active volcanoes – the snow-capped, perfectly cone-shaped Cotopaxi. Picnic lunch.
Dinner & overnight in Hacienda La Cienega.

Day 7         Pita Canyon Walk  3650m   6km – 2.5hrs
Today we undertake a circular walk to Pita Canyon, which offers spectacular views of the canyon itself, along with the Sincholagua & Ruminahui Volcanoes. Along the way we will visit a pucara – an ancient ruin of an Inca fortress – found within the Cotopaxi National Park. After lunch we return to Quito where, on arrival, the tour ends. Guango Lodge, near Papallacta
