Day 1     Cotopaxi National Park
Travel from Quito to Cotopaxi National Park. Beginning at the Limpiopungo lake, our walk takes us through striking Andean landscapes, in the ever-present shadow of one of the world's highest active volcanoes – the snow-capped, perfectly cone-shaped Cotopaxi. Box lunch included.
Dinner & overnight in Hacienda Porvenir.

Day 2     Horse riding and the Equator line
A spectacular 2 hour horseback ride can be enjoyed this morning through the stark & beautiful landscapes of the Cotopaxi surrounded by four volcanoes. Suitable for beginners. After lunch at the lodge we journey north to the lake region of Otavalo, with a stop at the Quitsato Museum with its unique sun-dial, located exactly on the Equator line. Great photo opportunity.
Dinner & overnight in Las Palmeras.

Day 3     Cuicocha Crater Lake & Otavalo Market
Our short walk takes us along the rim of the striking Cuicocha Volcano, with its captivating blue-green crater lake, to a great viewing point. Strolling through Andean forest to discover orchids & bromeliads, we are also on the look-out for the endangered Andean Condor. Incredible lake views. Lunch in the leather market town of Cotacachi and afternoon visit to the colourful indigenous market in Otavalo.
Dinner & overnight in Las Palmeras.

Day 4     Peguche Waterfall, Musicians & Condor Park
At Peguche we enjoy an easy walk along a pretty valley to the local waterfall, before visiting the home of a family of musicians where we learn more about typical Andean musical instruments, such as panpipes. After lunch in a local restaurant we continue onto the Condor Park, where we can see and learn more about Ecuadorian wildlife.
Dinner & overnight in Las Palmeras.

Day 5     Pahuma Reserve Visit
An early start to journey onto the lush cloud forest region of Ecuador. In Pahuma we can take a short walk through the cloud forest looking for hummingbirds, orchids and hidden waterfalls. Picnic lunch. In the afternoon we arrive at the Maquipucuna Cloud Forest Reserve, the hummingbirds are mesmerizing. A night walk can be enjoyed after dinner to explore the forest after dark.

Day 6     Cloud Forest Walk & Waterfall Swim
A morning walk through the cloud forest reserve to learn all about the wildlife found here, and the different medicinal plants that the local people use. After lunch we can enjoy a walk to the nearby waterfall for a refreshing dip, then later we can help in the kitchen preparing tomorrow's breakfast, such as homemade muesli or quimbolitos.
Dinner & overnight in Maquipucuna Lodge.

Day 7     Local School & return to Quito
En-route by foot to the local village of Marianitas, we can visit Maquipucuna's organic garden to learn about the different crops grown here, used to prepare meals at the lodge. On arrival at Marianitas we visit the local school, share some time with the teachers and pupils and maybe even enjoy a game of football. After lunch we begin our return journey to Quito, where on arrival, the tour ends. Las Palmeras, Otavalo
