Itinerary

Pick up this morning to arrive at Quito's Teleferiqo by 8am.

After enjoying the cable car ride up to 4000m we begin our hike to the summit of Rucu Pichincha.

Our walk takes us along paramo ridges with fantastic views across Quito and the eastern range of the Andean cordillera. On clear days we can see Cayambe, Antisana, Cotopaxi and Chimborazo Volcanoes.

Our guide will explain more about the distinct high grassland flora and fauna en-route.

The final part of the hike includes a short scramble over sandy banks and rocky outcrops to reach the volcano summit at 4696m.

After a picnic lunch with a view, we begin our descent and return to the city.
