Itinerary
Your private naturalist guide will pick you up from your Quito hotel this morning to begin the scenic journey down the outer slopes of the Andes and into Ecuador’s lush cloud forest region, a biodiversity hot spot.
En route to Mindo we visit the mesmerizing Alambi hummingbird garden and enjoy a short walk along the banks of the pristine river. Look out for hummingbirds, tanagers and toucans.
On arrival in the little town of Mindo we board the local tarabita for a fun ride over the cloud forest canopy to reach the other side of the valley where we can explore different trails to some beautiful waterfalls.
Lunch can be enjoyed in a near-by restaurant (not included).
In the afternoon we can visit the butterfly farm and enjoy a chocolate workshop tour at a local café where we learn about the elaboration of chocolate and get a chance to sample the end product.
Return to Quito at the end of the day.
