Ecological Airport Terminal in Galapagos
The world's first ecological airport terminal has begun fully operating in the Galapagos Islands. Around US$24 million has been invested with a priority being placed on utilizing solar and wind energy along with water recycling.
Due to its location, any gases produced by airplanes do not enter the terminal itself, maintaining the building free from air contamination. The new terminal, which is used daily by visitors to the Galapagos, also boasts huge windows taking full advantage of natural light and ventilation.
