Itinerary

Today our guide and private driver will pick us up from our hotel in Guayaquil.

We travel from the low tropical coastal region of Ecuador into the Andes. The stark contrast between the tropical plantations of banana, coffee and chocolate at the start of the journey to the high paramos above the tree line at the end, makes for a fascinating road trip.

Around one hour before we reach Cuenca we stop at Cajas National Park where we have time for a 1 to 2 hour visit. Cajas offers impressive glacial landscapes of cloud forest and Andean highland paramo, with over 200 lakes and lagoons.

Lunch included (can be a picnic lunch or lunch in local restaurant)

After lunch we continue onto the beautiful colonial city of Cuenca with its impressive blue-domed cathedral, the biggest in Latin America.

Drop off in Cuenca hotel.
