New Mandatory Online Declaration for Galapagos Travelers
Starting December 2024, all visitors to the Galapagos Islands must complete the “Declaration of Goods” form online as part of the Galapagos National Park’s ongoing control measures to protect the islands’ unique ecosystem. This form was previously distributed in paper format and completed on the airplane before landing.
Key Details:
1. Who Needs to Complete It?
- All travelers arriving in the Galapagos.
2. When and How to Complete It:
- Complete the form online at declaracion.abgalapagos.gob.ec up to 48 hours before your flight.
- Alternatively, use the QR code available at the airports in Quito or Guayaquil to complete it before boarding.
3. What Information is Required
- Personal details: name, passport number, flight details.
- Declaration of items being transported (e.g., food, plants, camping gear).
- Information on visits to areas with domestic or wild animals in the last 72 hours.
4. After Submission
- A confirmation code will be sent to your email, which must be shown to Galapagos National Park representatives upon arrival.
Why This Change?
