New Mandatory Online Declaration for Galapagos Travelers
Starting December 2024, all visitors to the Galapagos Islands must complete the “Declaration of Goods” form online as part of the Galapagos National Park’s ongoing control measures to protect the islands’ unique ecosystem. This form was previously distributed in paper format and completed on the airplane before landing.

⚠️ Important update:
As of 31 January 2026, the physical (paper) Sworn Declaration of Goods form will be phased out permanently and replaced entirely by the digital version.

2. When and How to Complete It:
- Complete the form online at declaracion.abgalapagos.gob.ec
- The form can be submitted up to 72 hours before your flight.
- Alternatively, you may use the QR codes available at Quito or Guayaquil airports before boarding.
3. What Information is Required

4. After Submission
- A digital confirmation will be generated (QR code or registration number), which must be shown to biosecurity inspectors upon arrival in Baltra or San Cristobal.
- Until 31 January 2026, paper forms are still available on flights, but from this date onward the process will be fully digital.
Why This Change?
This initiative aims to streamline entry procedures, strengthen biosecurity controls, and reduce environmental impact by eliminating paper use in one of the world's most fragile ecosystems.
The digital declaration is a key tool used by the Agency for Biosecurity and Quarantine Regulation and Control for Galapagos (ABG) to prevent the introduction of invasive species, prohibited organic products, or pathogens.
